It to on me a few chapters to confirm that I had read this particular book before. But, even after realizing that, I was more than willing to reread it.
It is refreshing to have a book around a couple that is already married and still have it contain the intrigue and spice of other historical courting romances. Plus, the plot outside of the romance does not feel detached from the story. In fact, they blend together beautifully.
Without giving spoilers, there are some trigger warnings in the book. There are some hard themes and depictions regarding the main characters past and upbringing. However, they were tastefully done, as much as issues such as these can be. It is important to not ignore hard truths, and the ultimate lesson is that you can move past.
